Ida Zetterström is a European dragracer. Born in Sweden, living on Aland Islands, Finland most of her life - she relocated to America in 2024.
Ida has been at the racetrack since she was a few weeks old and been racing since the age of 8. Starting out in Jr. Dragster and
moving up to Super Comp Dragster at the age of 16. She has since raced both drag bikes and dragsters and is a Scandinavian Champion in the Super Street Bike class, having both records and event wins under her belt in this ultra-hairy drag bike class.
Ida earned her Top Fuel license at the end of the 2021 season, running a stunning 3.86s at the 1000ft, the quickest FIA licensing run in history. In early 2022 Ida clocked in at 3.78s making her the first driver in European history to run a sub-3.8s pass and a new European record.

In 2023 Ida and the European RFMotorsport team reset their own European ET record with a 3.773s pass while also taking over the new European Speed record of 321mph. Ida and the team then went on to win the event. An impressive start to what came to be a very impressive season with 4 event wins and the overall Top Fuel Championship victory.

While Ida was happy with her European success, she had her sights set on competing in the world’s most prestigious and highly competitive drag racing series, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). She relocated from the Aland Islands in Finland to the Indianapolis area in January 2024 and made her NHRA Top Fuel debut with JCM Racing later that summer.
In her first professional outing, Ida made a major statement when she defeated a multi-time champion to advance to the semifinal round. At the end of her rookie season she was named ‘Best New Talent’ by NHRA’s National Dragster publication, an award voted on by the fans.

“This is a unique opportunity to bring a talented rising star into the world of NHRA Drag Racing,” said JCM Racing team owner, Joe Maynard. “We’ve followed Ida’s success on and off the track for some time now. She obviously has the skills it takes to excel in Top Fuel. Plus, she understands the importance of social media and how to utilize it to benefit partners. She’s the full package. I believe Ida has a bright future in NHRA Drag Racing, and we’re thrilled that she’s making her U.S. debut as a member of our JCM Racing organization.”
