The JCM Racing Driver Development program was created to offer young racers the opportunity to hone in and perfect their driving and sponsor relation skills as they work towards a career of competing in the NHRA’s professional ranks.
While JCM Racing developmental drivers receive funding to help offset their operational costs, Joe Maynard believes that the true value of the program lies within the access the developmental drivers have to the JCM Racing team and its resources.

“You have to be able to represent drag racing the way that the professional drivers do, like the Ida Zetterströms, the Alexis DeJoria the Ron Capps. That’s the standard we’re trying to influence and teach. We want them to learn about it from people that do it.

It goes beyond just being able to ask our pro drivers for advice. We can help these kids with their marketing decks, teach them how to approach sponsors, how to best maximize their social media posts.
We’re trying to grow the next generation of top-quality drivers that have the desire to be pros and that will step in if some of our sport’s more mature, or older, drivers reach the ends of their careers. We’ve gotta have people coming up that are driven to succeed. We’re trying to build that next generation to keep the sport alive.”

"I've always been passionate about helping the next generation of racers in the Jr Dragster ranks. I got my start in the same class and I think that makes me relate to these kids so much. To be able to be part of their journey in this sport is something I really enjoy.

We want to help the next generation with the right steppingstones they need to keep excelling in this sport.
We are focused on helping them to sharpen their game with finding sponsors, growing their social media and staying mentally strong out here. The kids are doing the work, but we are here to help guide and support them in their venture to being the best version of a racer and making their passion for the sport stay alive.
Our vision for this program isn't to just give these kids financial help to go race, it's to give them the right tools to be able to keep racing when their time in Junior dragster is up. It was something I struggled with myself when I graduated from the Jr class and I hope that some of the things I learned along the way can help make that transition easier for them when the day comes.
